隨時嘆到冷氣之小確幸

我家米米自從18歲後, 一天不嘆冷氣就活不了, 真的慶倖他生於香港, 家中有冷氣, 圖書館有冷氣, 商場有冷氣, 餐廳裡有冷氣, 公司有冷氣.......

還好香港才二十多至三十多度, 如果生在印度應該很快熱死, 因為那裡有五十度, 還水資源不足！而歐洲雖然也是三十多度, 但由於以前歐洲是以前是偏冷的, 他們的房子設計是小窗戶厚牆身的, 現在氣候變暖, 夏天高達三十多度, 太陽曬了一天, 厚牆壁吸滿了熱力, 晚上釋放出來, 誰受得了呀！😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

最近歐洲疯搶美的便攜式冷氣機, 現在嚴重缺貨已一機難求! 博士博友分享一個某奧地利人搶美的冷氣機的小故事, 十分有趣！

I spent 2 days looking for a portable AC in Austria

The only decent model I could find is Midea Portasplit – and it was sold out almost everywhere in the EU

In 2 days, Vienna is gonna turn into a living hell with 38 degrees of heat

So I set up 3 AI agents looking for this AC 24/7 and have been monitoring the market myself

The country in the EU that still had these ACs was Hungary

I called the distributor - the delivery was only possible inside Hungary

I had no one there, so I started calling the local delivery company to see if they could help

Nobody there spoke English, and my roaming bill started mounting (the EU-to-EU calls cost a lot of money despite all the integration talk)

Luckily, I have my own VoIP calling app – with it, I could actually afford waiting 30 minutes on the line + I fed the recordings what GLS managers said in Hungarian to AI and figured out what to say to them

The delivery company didn't want to accept my parcel without the instructions from the sender

So I changed the strategy – I called 10 hotels near the border and asked if they could take a 50 kg box for me

After around 20 calls, I got one hotel to agree

Today at 2 AM, I couldn’t sleep, so I was doom-scrolling and mentally preparing to waste several hundred € on a trip to Hungary

Then suddenly I saw a notification from my AI agent – it found an AC in Austria!

It was one model left in Linz, 200 km from where I live

I jumped on my phone, rushed through the reservation form, and went to bed happy

Today I got up, grabbed a coffee, and drove 200 km to get my AC

When I was in the store, I saw that the price inreased a €100, from €749 to €849

I decided to be assertive, demanded to talk to the manager, and they agreed to sell the AC at the reservation price

I was happy like a child – this was the only Midea left in the whole country, and it was mine!

On my way back, I saw some insane views of the Danube and stopped in the Mauthausen concentration camp, which was nearby

I explored it way into the closing hours and accidentally got locked up there. The police came to release me, and we cracked some jokes about it

When I was trying to figure out how to unload the AC from my car, a random guy offered to help me get it all the way to my door

Now I’m actually grateful to this AC deficit and the heat wave, because getting the AC amidst a total heat panic and crisis turned into a real adventure – and also it's finally cool in my apartment ❄️

我看完就不明白了, 為什麼奧他利只有一部美的便攜式, 匈牙利卻有貨？ 博友說是因為匈牙利沒那麼熱, 但奧地利已熱到受不了了！冷氣機早被搶購一空了！現在連二手冷氣機都大幅加價了！

我又不明白為什麼要搶portable的冷氣, 不能正正經經地安裝正規冷氣機嗎？後來才知道, 原來歐洲的房子不許打洞, 只有美的portable不用打洞, 只須掛在窗口或把管子伸出窗外排水便可, 不影響房子結構。另外, 歐洲正規師父安裝冷氣的安裝費比冷氣機本身還貴！portable 美的無需安裝。😁😁😁

唉～看上面例子(英文部分), 人家為了得到一部冷氣機有多難！

我們能夠隨時隨地嘆到冷氣, 香港人太幸福了！
